My name is Mallory, welcome to my blog, Hyper Feminism!
I hope this space I am creating will help or inspire you in some way, whether that is to become more ‘period positive’ (a topic you’ll be seeing a lot of here) or just to find a good quote for an Instagram caption.
I want this to be a place that will help women, especially young women to remove the shame they have been taught to feel around everything from periods to self expression, and encourage radical self-love.
I’ve been on my own self-empowerment journey through feminism for about five years now and wanted to create a space focused on removing shame around women, our bodies and their functions (specifically around menstruation), as well as encouraging hyper-self-love. I think its important for women to feel completely comfortable talking about their bodies and experiences, busting taboos and normalising things we’ve been taught are ‘gross’ or to stay silent about. This is a safe and inclusive space, feel free to leave comments on posts and interact with my social channels (all linked to your right or at the bottom of the page for mobile users).
While I hope to encourage thought and discussions in the feminist sphere, it is important to recognise my privilege in this community. I’m white and come from a family where while money wasn’t abundant by any means, I never went without. I can’t speak to experiences that are not my own and the purpose of this blog will never be to speak over other women. As a cis white woman my responsibility is to amplify the voices of other women, not insert myself into the narrative.
I’m not perfect, if any of my content feels unsatisfactory in this regard, please call me out. I’m constantly learning, and this new venture will be no different.
Thank you for joining me on this journey!
